RÉGIE DE L’ÉNERGIE
Application by the Distributor for approval of rates for major consumers (Case R-4343-2026)
Pursuant to its Decision D-2026-075, the Régie de l’énergie (the Régie) will hold a public hearing
to examine an application from Hydro-Québec when carrying on electric power distribution activities (the Distributor) to set new rates for major consumers (case R-4343-2026).
THE APPLICATION
Following Decision D-2026-033, which rejected the DS and Flex DS rates for domestic customers who consume more than 50,000 kWh and directed the Distributor to file a new rate application that incentivizes reduced electricity consumption, the Distributor is requesting that the Régie set new rates for major consumers (DG and Flex DG rates). These new rates are designed to encourage residential customers who consume 35,000 kWh or more per year to reduce their consumption.
APPLICATIONS TO INTERVENE
Any person wishing to participate in the examination of the Distributor’s application must file with the Régie, by noon on August 10, 2026, a request to intervene, accompanied by the Liste des sujets form listing the subjects they intend to address and, if applicable, a participation budget, in accordance with the Rules of procedure of the Régie de l’énergie (the Rules) and the Guide de paiement des frais des intervenants 2020 (the Guide).
